About Us

Virginia Satir (June 26, 1916 - September 10, 1988) made enormous contributions to family therapy in her practice and training. Her most well-known books are Conjoint Family Therapy, 1964, Peoplemaking, 1972, and The New Peoplemaking, 1988. Richard Bandler and John Grinder studied her while working and used their impressions and her explanations for creating NLP techniques.

Prior to her untimely death, Virginia Satir worked with, among others, Jerry Weinberg, Jean McLendon, John Banmen, Maria Gomori, and Lynne Azpeitia. Some of Virginia's students, and their students, and their students students, continue to develop tools for including feelings and compassion in relationships.

The facilitators on this site are so-called first, second and third generation facilitators, and the latter two generations are packing their Satir work in their backpacks as resources on their grass roots journeys in Europe, to transfer Satir knowledge and wisdom to others that wish to zap their own soil with their own lightning, and comfusing themselves. :-)

We offer a range of workshops and courses on personal development and communication skills, based on the works of Virginia Satir and others. This website is evolving alongside as art-i-fact, holding space for and serving Creative Commons 3.0 Attribution-ShareAlike licensed Books of Proceedings for all that choose to participate, facilitate, observe and/or support.
